February 29th, 2008 — Money, wine
Whenever I have someone tell me they don’t know which wine is good, I always tell them “If it taste good to you it’s good”.
Then while we’re drinking our wine I tell them this cautionary tale. I’ll just give you the chapter headings.
Chapter 1. You drink wine (but don’t like it)
Chapter 2. You drink more wine (and then you like it)
Chapter 3. You drink some Good wine (and really like it)
Chapter 4. You buy some Good Wine
Chapter 5. You buy more Good Wine
Chapter 6. You worry about proper storage
Chapter 7. You get a wine cellar
Chapter 8. You buy a lot lot lot more wine$$$$$$$
When you get the wine buying bug you can buy wine quicker than you can drink it and spend money you haven’t got

One thing you have to understand is that money is not important. It’s the lack of money that’s important.
Here’s what I mean.If you have money to pay for everything (food, shelter, transportation etc) and you have enough so that when your car breaks you fix it, your TV dies you replace it, you get sick you go to the doctor. If you make enough money to do all that ( and have insurance and savings) you have enough.
If you were to make twice as much money, how would your life be different? Bigger house? Better clothes? Eat at fancier restaurants? It’s not an important difference.
But if you don’t have enough money, then, when your car breaks you can’t fix it, you miss work bills don’t get paid.
This is important.
